Upsize Property Renovation's directors are giving up their weekends to offer free roof inspections and minor repairs for elderly, disabled and low-income residents across Peterborough this winter.
Peterborough-based multi-trade roofing and social housing kitchen and bathroom contractor Upsize Property Renovation Ltd has announced a dedicated community initiative aimed at protecting vulnerable local residents from winter weather damage, with both company directors committing their personal weekends to deliver the work free of charge.
As part of their ongoing commitment to social housing and community welfare, co-directors Alexandru Balan and Laurentiu Dobinda are offering free roof inspections, essential safety advice, and minor remedial fixes for elderly homeowners, vulnerable residents, and local families struggling with maintenance costs across Peterborough.
With winter bringing severe rain and freezing temperatures, unaddressed roof leaks, loose tiles, and blocked guttering can quickly lead to severe damp, heat loss, and thousands of pounds in emergency repair costs. The initiative offers clear property assessments alongside free immediate minor repairs where feasible, or discounted restoration work for those requiring extensive support.
"In our day-to-day work across social housing, we constantly see the stress that sudden home repair issues place on vulnerable people," said Alexandru Balan, Director of Upsize Property Renovation Ltd. "We wanted to do more than just standard business. By dedicating our weekends, we can personally step in, inspect roofs, handle minor fixes on the spot, and give local residents complete peace of mind without financial strain."
The team will be running the inspections and minor remedial works on weekends throughout the upcoming autumn and winter months. A dedicated web page has been launched where local residents, family members, or carers can apply directly or nominate someone in need of assistance.
