Peterborough Weekend Roof Clinic: supporting our local community
Free roof inspections, essential safety advice and minor remedial fixes for elderly homeowners, vulnerable residents and local families struggling with maintenance costs across Peterborough, delivered at weekends by our co-directors, Alexandru Balan and Laurentiu Dobinda.
Protecting vulnerable residents from winter weather damage
With winter bringing severe rain and freezing temperatures, unaddressed roof leaks, loose tiles and blocked guttering can quickly lead to severe damp, heat loss and thousands of pounds in emergency repair costs.
The initiative offers clear property assessments alongside free immediate minor repairs where feasible, or discounted restoration work for those requiring extensive support. Inspections and minor remedial works run on weekends throughout the autumn and winter months.
"In our day-to-day work across social housing, we constantly see the stress that sudden home repair issues place on vulnerable people. We wanted to do more than just standard business. By dedicating our weekends, we can personally step in, inspect roofs, handle minor fixes on the spot, and give local residents complete peace of mind without financial strain."
Alexandru Balan, Director, Upsize Property Renovation Ltd
